Residents at EachStep Blackburn have a choice of lounge and dining areas to relax, dine and socialise in. The home also has lovely landscaped garden with views over Blackburn where residents love to sit and enjoy time with family and friends.
All our bedrooms are spacious and have en-suite facilities. The home brings together modern dementia-friendly environment design, leading person-centred care approaches, a significant focus on involving the local community, and a commitment to making a social impact in Blackburn.

At EachStep Blackburn we want people who are living with dementia to lead full, happy and active lives – that’s why we’ve created a unique approach that has seen us install creative themed rooms throughout the home, which includes a stunning cinema, a tea room, indoor gardens, a Blackburn Rovers and cricket area, spaces that showcase the history of the local area, and a music room. These multi-sensory areas promote stimulation, reminiscence and relaxation.

At EachStep Blackburn we encourage an atmosphere of fun and inclusion and we run a weekly programme of activities and events, which includes talks and demonstrations as well performers from the local area who regularly visit and entertain residents. We know how important it is for our residents to also play an active part in the local community and we attend lots of activities and events in the local area.

Mealtimes are an important social event for our residents to look forward to everyday, and this begins with an appetising offering. We have a partnership with Apetito whose chefs and nutritionist have taken pride in catering for specific requirements and nutritional needs, without compromising on the delight of a delicious meal. Apetito Chefs regularly update menus to keep things fresh, while also ensuring they’re filled with home comforts such as traditional Sunday roasts and fish Friday. Apetito also provide meals to special dietary requirements without compromising on taste. Snacks and beverages are always available throughout the day and we even have snack stations located on each unit free of charge.

We are committed to providing personalised support that ensures our residents lead active, happy and fulfilled lives. All staff receive specialist training and mentoring. We really get to know our residents and spend time understanding their life story and the things that are important to them, so that we can focus on the things that really matter to them. Every resident has a named key worker who helps develop their own personalised care. We hold a regular forum with residents, enabling them to voice their views and make suggestions on the day-to-day running of our home. We have strong links with local organisations in the community including Alzhemier’s Society, Age UK and local advocacy groups.
